(I am very aware how white all of these people are, but I couldn’t find any good feminist quotes from famous people of colour (well I have one from Michelle Obama but that didnt explicitly reference feminism), so if you can think of any it would be much appreciated!)
Also, for everyone who tries to substitute words like “equalist” or completely misusing the word “humanist”, doing so erases the massive inequalities that women not only in the US but around the word still face every single day right here in the present. “Equalism” is invisibility. Before we can have equality we have to, well, have equality.
EVERY WORD OF THIS. Every time someone says “Sorry, I’m not a feminist” I really do take it personally. You know why? Because I’m a woman, and you’re saying you believe me to be less of a person because of that.
